Hiding subpages from google
There are cases when you don't want google to find and include a subpage of yours in the search rankings. Since you preferably want this to happen to the most important subpages it is a good idea to omit the ones with the least important content, e.g. Legal Notices and perhaps subpages with additional but not crucial information.
You can easily set a subpage to be noindexed with only one mouseclick!
Open up your page manager by clicking on Pages in your top toolbar. Once opened you can access the SEO & details below each page name and URL. Here you can enter separate and subpage-specific SEO information like title, keywords and description. There are 2 checkboxes, too.
- Noindex: when ticked, this will prevent Google from indexing the page
- Navigation: when ticked, this will show the subpage as a menu item. (Note: the menu element will use these pages to build a navigation when it is set to "Automatically")
Using these settings you can decide which contents will be quickly accessible and prioritized, whether it's onpage or when searched for on Google.
